Major Flood Warning for the Flinders Rivers

MAJOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT RICHMOND DURING SATURDAY
Widespread heavy rainfall has been observed across the Flinders River catchment which has led to river and creek level rises and areas of minor to moderate flooding. Further heavy rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Friday and into the weekend. This is likely to lead to further river level rises.
Moderate flooding is likely occurring along the Flinders River at Richmond Friday afternoon. Major flooding may occur during Saturday with forecast rainfall.
The flood situation is being closely monitored and forecasts and warnings will be updated as required.
Flinders River to Richmond:
Major flooding may occur along the Flinders River to Richmond.
There are no river level observations at Richmond, but the river level is likely to be above the moderate flood level (6.00 m) and rising. The Flinders River at Richmond may reach the major flood level (8.00 m) during Saturday with forecast rainfall. Further rises are possible.
