Initial Minor Flood Warning for the Barcoo River

Flood Warning Number: 1

MINOR FLOODING EXPECTED TO BE OCCURRING AT BLACKALL

Rainfall totals of up to 130 mm have been recorded in the Blackall River catchment in the 24 hours to 3:00 pm Wednesday. River level rises and minor flooding have been observed along the Barcoo River at Blackall.

Further showers and thunderstorm are forecast for the next few days. The situation is being monitored and warnings will be updated as required.

Barcoo River to Isisford:

Minor flooding is expected to be occurring along the Barcoo River to Isisford.

No current river level observations are available for the Barcoo River at Blackall, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is expected to be around a peak near the minor flood level (2.00 m). The Barcoo River at Blackall may remain around the minor flood level (2.00 m) until Thursday morning. Further rises are possible.
