Intensity: category 2, sustained winds near the centre of 100 kilometres per hour with wind gusts to 140 kilometres per hour.
Location: within 55 kilometres of 15.2 degrees South, 106.3 degrees East , 535 kilometres south of Christmas Island and 1080 kilometres east southeast of Cocos (Keeling) Islands .
Movement: west northwest at 18 kilometres per hour .

Tropical Cyclone Taliah, Category 2, lies well to the south of Christmas Island, and is tracking westward. There is high confidence in the track continuing to the west and passing well south of Christmas Island and then the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

Hazards:

Tropical Cyclone Taliah will not directly impact the Australian mainland nor any island communities.
